The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

No matter if you have a low or high-pile carpet There's a robot vacuum for you. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home automatically and pick up dirt and clean under furniture.

A lot of them come with advanced features, like mapping, which can help you navigate your home and remember furniture positioning. They can also boost suction power to tackle dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The iRobot Roomba is an entry level robot vacuum that is effective on both bare flooring and low-pile floor carpet. It has a decent suction and can clean up most debris, though it isn't able to handle larger particles like rice or sand. It also does a decent job of removing pet hair, but it's not impervious to tangling as top Roomba models, such as the j7 or I6.

The Roomba 694 is easy to use. It has three buttons on its cover: 'Clean' launches the cleaning process and 'Dock' allows it to be put back in its charging station and 'Spot Clean' activates the targeted cleaning. You can control it using a smartphone application that allows you to schedule cycles, stop/start them, and alter settings. You can also connect it with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a little slower than the others, however it's still able to reach most corners and crevices. It has a large dustbin which is ideal to reduce the frequency at which you must empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which lets you make the robot avoid certain areas or stop cleaning completely to stop it from getting stuck.

While it's not the best model in its price range, it's better than many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with a much better cleaning performance for carpets that are low and bare. It also follows the most efficient cleaning method and has longer battery life. It is also more robust, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, costs less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.

It is also worth considering other models from the iRobot range, like the v7 or 981. They're more expensive, however they provide significant improvements over the 694 in terms of cleaning efficiency on both low- and bare floors, use an efficient cleaning path and have a larger dirt compartment, are quicker to charge, move more easily, and are more easy to connect to smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on low-pile carpet and hard flooring. Its combinator brush gets to corners and edges and then automatically increases suction as soon as it senses carpet. It is also effective at cleaning dirt and debris that are embedded in mid-pile carpet. The IQ has a tiny footprint and also a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to alter the floor level on the map, or set no-go zones, you'll need to manually reset it in order to do so, which is quite an inconvenience.

The IQ app provides advanced mapping and automated functions, however it isn't equipped with no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its smart-pathing navigational system results in superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, although it is prone to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker lets you operate the robot by voice commands.

In our tests, we observed that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to remove the majority of hair on floors that were not bare and a decent amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets. It was unable to reach dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able navigate chair legs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on bare floors however it soon recovered speed and performed better than the other robots we tried.

The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin, a longer battery life, and is better at navigating obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can tackle sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is built better and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, and can create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume the cleaning process from where it left off if it is unable to recharge its battery prior to having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a big plus for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most features-rich models, but it offers excellent cleaning power for affordable prices. It's designed for those who don't need a complicated mapping system or an app to control the device. The robot can run for more than an hour and comes with an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like brushed aluminum. It's a nice stylistic contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was excellent at picking up larger debris and fine dust on hard flooring. However, it was unable to provide medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. The device is prone to bump into furniture and people along its route. However, it is able detect obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud ring when it encounters an obstacle. Then, you can manually guide the device around it to restart it.

The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the Eufy11S. It allows you to set the robot up to automatically adjust the suction force based on the floor type and the level of dirt. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to your desired area.

Single Room Mode is a great alternative if you have a small amount of furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will take 30 minutes cleaning the area that it is assigned to.

You can also opt for Edge Cleaning which restricts the amount of time spent here in each location to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling fashion cleaning edges and corners.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a fantastic mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also impressive. It can pick up rice and other small particles with ease. The suction power doesn't diminish as the dirt bin fills. Its allergy-friendly design and air-sealed body traps allergens and keeps your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not as effective as more expensive models, but it's great for deep cleaning and taking on the toughest stains. It has two cameras on the front that deliver a live feed to your smartphone. It also has one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It has a huge bin, a long running time and an easy, bump-free clean-up.

Unlike most other robots, the Complete C1 can switch between a standard powerhead and a turbo head for different types of floors. The turbo head is ideal for low-pile and high-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead is great on floors that are unfinished and light carpets. It also features an automatic height adjustment system that enables it to adjust to different kinds of flooring without manual adjustments.

This model comes bundled with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors as well as medium-pile carpeting. The powerhead can also be easily moved and reach difficult spots. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment as well as a brushroll off switch to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll and an UtraClean mode that cycles across the same area three times to ensure the best cleaning possible and a self-emptying trash bin that can be emptied with the push of a button. Its sound level is slightly higher than other models however, its powerful 1,200-watt motor and sturdy build make it worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay a bit more then the Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-around canister robot vacuum that performs better on carpet than the Classic C1. It performs better on all floors and feels more sturdy and comes with an HEPA filter.
